Juicing for Busy People!
For years now we have gone through phases of vegetable juicing to enhance our health. Just recently we purchased Youngevity Super Greens and we’ve had a major rethink on this whole process. Just doing the maths alone on the price comparison of one glass of vegetable juice vs one glass of Super Greens was a total no-brainer! We calculated that our standard vegetable juice is costing us approximately $3 per glass. With 46 scoops of Super Greens powder in the tub valued at $60 that makes one glass of Super Greens valued at $1.30. We call it Vegetable Juicing for Busy People!
If you’ve been on a health regime, or have just started one, you’ve probably read of the high value that vegetable juicing offers. What you might not be aware of is the time it can take to extract juice properly so that most of the nutrients are left in the juice. To ensure you preserve the nutrients during the juicing process you really need to use the slower Twin Gear juice extraction method. The higher speed juicers on the market have a downside in that they generate heat and introduce air into the juice causing oxidation and loss of nutrients. For us to produce 6 glasses of vegetable juice using the optimal Twin Gear juicer we generally take about one hour. Wash the vegetables, chop to a manageable size for the juicer, run the vegetables through the juicer, pour and seal, then start on the big cleanup process – dismantling your juicer, washing and scrubbing all the parts, washing chopping board and other kitchen utensils – an hour could well be an optimistic time frame.
We compared the nutritional value of the two options – Youngevity Super Greens vs Vegetable Juice and once again it was a no-brainer! Youngevity Super Greens has way more variety of vegetables and superfoods than you would normally use in your standard vegetable juice. With our Certified Organic vegetables used in our juicing we couldn’t be sure what amount of nutrition we would receive. A recent survey by one major Certified Organic governing body in Australia returned the result that only 2% of Certified Organic farmers are fully mineralizing their soils. 98% of these growers are adding just a few minerals to their soils. If the minerals are not in the soils then they’re certainly not in the plants that grow out of it.
